Masami UechiDVM, Ph.D., DAiCVIM (Cardiology)

Current Overview:
Masami is a chief executive officer at Japan Animal Specialty Medical Institute Inc. (JASMINE Veterinary Cardiovascular Medical Center), and De Facto member of Asian College of Veterinary Internal Medicine from 2018.

Masami graduated from Azabu University in 1990 and completed Graduate school from Azabu University in 1994. Masami worked in Cardiovascular Medicine, New England Regional Primate Research Center, Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral fellow and an instructor from 1994-1997. Masami then moved back to Japan to join Kitasato University in 1997 as an Assistant Professor in Animal Teaching Hospital and as an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine in 2002. He then moved to Nihon University in 2007 and he became Professor in 2009 in Internal Medicine. He also became invited professor in Royal Veterinary College, University of Lyon, Azabu University, Graduate School of Medicine, Yokohama City University, and School of Medicine, Hirosaki University. He became a De Facto diplomate of the Asian College of Veterinary Medicine (Cardiology) in 2018.

Clinical Interests
asami has an interest in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, kidney transplantation and dialysis. He also has a strong interest in cardiovascular (heart, vessels and kidney) regenerative medicine.

Research Interests:
Head of group looking at novel therapies for cardiovascular disease and regenerative medicine. Including valve repair and regenerative valve replacement for valvular disease, dialysis.
